Another dark photo (sorry), but you can sort of see the progress we’ve made. Most of the breakfast nook is painted the same green as the living room. The whole project is taking less paint than I thought it would. I didn’t realize just how few walls some of our rooms really have with the open floor plan.
I reorganized the pillows and blankets on the couch and love seat in the living room to give it more of a summer feel. There’s still a pretty heavy blanket on the love seat, but we don’t sit over there as often. The blanket on the back of the couch is a very light knit.
The rest of the work has been keeping up with the cleaning, mowing, and repairs around the house. Our back door leaked with that last bad storm we had where the rain was driving hard and blowing horizontal against the back of our house. It’s only leaked one other time so we had thought it was a fluke… apparently not. We have someone coming out to look at it next Monday. Hopefully they can fix it. The water only came in for a few minutes but it gets into everything.
We’ve been visiting with family, friends, and taking our son out. The pool has been wonderful this year. Hopefully, by the end of the season our son will be comfortable wading. The mall’s been a blast on rainy days. We managed to visit both the Baltimore Zoo and Elioak’s Petting Farm. It’s been a busy few weeks, heavier on experiences and lighter on home improvement and crafts. As August rolls around I expect we’ll be focused more on the house. It’s generally too hot and humid in August to enjoy the outdoors as much around here.
